Jon realized the gravity of his mistake quickly, and hastily made an attempt to fix it. Wishes could be modified, right? "I wish that whatever interesting thing was about to happen would be the least interesting it could possibly be! No, I wish it was altogether uninteresting! No, I wish... uh..."

Jon made the mistake of stopping just long enough for the Stone to get tired of him not making up his mind. It flashed. Was it supposed to flash? Shit, was that worse?

"I know! I wish I didn't just wish either of those things!"

The stone would have rolled its eyes if it had them. It did not flash.

"...okay... I wish I knew how to fix this?"

Grandpa's letter reappeared on Jon's desk. "Wishes... cannot be changed" was now highlighted in a bright flashy color.

"Jeez, okay, you don't have to sass me," Jon, who now had the superpower of talking to rocks, said. (Rocks did not have the superpower of talking back.)

Still, Jon, unaware of his completely uninteresting new superpower, considered. "I wonder what those wishes actually just did?" Jon the technically-super human said to his beloved pet (Rocks did now have the superpower to be Pet Rocks, and/or Man's Best Friend). "Should I wish to know what happened?" Jon asked the Rock. The Stone could not respond. "I mean... it'll probably be clear soon enough, right? Gah, I don't know. Maybe it's so uninteresting that I don't even notice?"

Jon was unsure. Only one thing was clear: Something uninteresting was about to go down.
