Moving along, things were not as smooth as he would like. After the party there was a massive assembly. It turned out that the shake up had to do with the 4 big squad leaders. Anyone that only had 3 or 4 successes drew from the 4 names. Whoever was picked would be their partner. They had 3 days to get to 5 successes. They all had access to Xanadu program all day. The first day would be where the leaders Topped the recruits. The second day, the leaders all Bottomed for them. On the third day, the recruit got to choose for themselves. If they were able to go 3 times a day, that was fine. If they could only handle attempting once, it was okay as well. At worse, they only needed to synchronize twice. Everyone else was done. All they had to do were exercise and the basic chores on the base. That was pretty boring. None of the boys in Henri's squad needed it. That was until Guy returned. It was on the day that the shake up began. The instructors decided Guy would be assigned to Fabien. Fabien would Bottom for Guy. Guy could just choose to Bottom the very next day if it all failed.
Not wasting any time, they went down to the hangar right after breakfast. Everyone in the squad went along to watch. They wanted to cheer Guy on. He never even got to finish his 10 weeks. If he could Top Fabien here, he would be done. Guy had never been able to Top before. This would be a major challenge to him. Especially after a leave of absence like he had. Knowing this, he wanted to do one in the morning and one in the evening with the boy he had been looking over. Guy nodded his head in response. He also had another recruit on his schedule that was struggling to get to 5 synchronizations. Fabien was going to partner with him as well. Since there was not much better to do, Henri resolved himself to stay there. He could watch all the attempts from the viewing platform. The others watched them attempt it in the morning. It did not work out. Guy's White Pulse was seemingly stuck in the low 30s. That was not good enough even with Fabien's Black Pulse of 66. The others left along with Guy soon after. Fabien and the other boy, Robin, had many attempts. Robin passed midday.
