Joy waiting patiently in the hall for Jake to finish in the bathroom. She heard the toilet flush and then the sound of Jake washing his hands before he stepped out and joined her in the hall.
"Let's go to my parents room and see if we can find anything out about the necklace we found." Joy said grabbing Jakes hand and pulling him down the hall.
The children wend straight to the closet where they had found the necklace. Looking in the closet they saw the shoe box where Joy had found the medallion right where they had left it. They pulled it out of the closet into the light so they could see it better. The medallion was still inside and now the children saw that there was a note at the bottom of the box that they hadn't seen earlier.
Joy put the necklace in her pocket before opening the note. Unfortunately, being only 6 years old, neither of the children could read the note.
"Maybe we should ask you Mom about it." Jake said.
"No way." Joy replied. "She was mad enough when she thought we had changed clothes. She would be really mad if she knew we had switched bodies."
"I guess you're right. Maybe we can ask my brother Mark to read it for us." Jake said.
"You mean MY brother Mark." Joy said laughing.
"Whatever. You can have him. Having an older brother sucks."
Joy put the note in her pocket next to the medallion and then put the, now empty, shoebox back in her parents' closet.
"Let's go downstairs before my Mom gets mad again because we are taking too long." Joy said.
They joined the other children downstairs and after snacking and a few more hours of playing together it was time for all of the other children to go home. Jake's mother arrived to pick him up and he almost left with her until he realized that she would be expecting Joy, who now looked like he had looked, to go with her.
Before she left, Jake pulled Joy in for a hug and whispered in her ear "Ask Mark to read you the note when you get to my house."
"I will." Joy whispered back.
"Come on, Honey. I've still got to pick Abby up at the babysitters before we go home." Jakes mother called.
"Coming Mom." Joy replied.
