As luck would have it, Karyn heard two familiar voices getting closer. Turning around, she saw Zoe and her best friend Athena (both still Goths) walking along the sidewalk, talking. Karyn wasn't sure if Zoe had the stone, or would even tell her (practically a stranger in this new reality) if she did, but maybe Karyn would have better luck getting to the stone with Zoe than she had with Jon's mother.
So with that, she jogged over to the younger girls, slightly alarming them. "I know this might seem like an odd question, but ... did you inherit a wishing stone?" Karyn asked.
