The PA system roared to life. "Attention everyone...I...don't know what just happened...but...if anyone is seriously injured, please report to the nurse's office. For everyone who just fell over...that happened to everyone...please report to your first period class while we all try to figure this out."
Kyla sat up, feeling dazed. Her mind felt blank...she was having trouble focusing. "Who was that?"
Next to her, some other woman answered, "The principal, I think."
Kyla saw a bag next to her and asked the woman, who she could not remember the name of if it was hers.
"It's not mine," the person next to her commented.
"I'll take it to lost and found then", Kyla explained, then slipped it on. As soon as she did so however, she realized something, her makeup was not on. How could that even happen, she put it on every morning before she went to school. Kyla couldn't go to class yet; she was practically naked.
Kyla then went to the bathroom and walked up to a mirror. She was just going to put on some makeup, but she found that her hair was messed up as well. "That fall.... really messed me up," she said to herself, then pulled out a brush and started to brush her hair. She eventually got it to a reasonable look, then, she took her time putting on all her makeup. She was well practiced so it did not take too long, and soon she was ready. She put everything back into her purse and walked outside of the bathroom. When she did so, she saw the principal in the hallway.
Ms. DeVries saw Kyla and walked up to her. "Ms. Leeson, why are you not in class?" She asked.
Kyla explained that after whatever happened this morning happened, she was in rough shape, looking like some geek, she needed to fix her look.
Ms. DeVries was annoyed, but she didn't want to be kept by Ms. Leeson so she sent her to the class, she would like to write her up, but she had been running into people all morning that were all out of sorts.
