Val arrived on the floor just before and was escorted to Holli’s room by a young man whom she had not seen before. He must be new she thought to herself as he gently knocked on Holli’s room door.
"여사. 목, 여사. 글로버 ~이다 여기 에게 보다 너." (Ms. Mok, Ms Glover is here to see you.) The young man said waiting for a reply.
“잠깐만요.” (Just a moment.) Came Holli’s voice from the other side of the door.
Val stood next to the young man trying to hide the smile that was starting to appear on her face. Holli was speaking Korean and from what it seemed to Val without a second thought. Just like earlier Val thought. Before another thought could enter her head Holli said through the door.
“그녀는 지금 들어올 수 있어요.” (She can come in now.).
The door was opened and Val saw Holli with her long blonde hair styled neatly wearing what had been one of Val’s favourite sweaters. It was light blue and white horizontally striped, fluffy sweater cropped, revealing her midriff. She was also wearing a pair of light blue, loose-fitting jeans, and white socks that were partially visible.
She was sitting in a yellow armchair, her makeup clean and her expression was almost playful, as she made a peace sign with her fingers near her face.
“Hi, Val thanks for coming to see me on my one night off,” Holli said to both Val and the young man who had followed her into the room.
“Not a problem. I like spending time with you.” Val said, knowing that Holli wanted to say more but couldn’t until they were alone.
"그것은 모두 ~을 위한 지금, 감사하다 너." ("That's all for now, thank you.") She said politely to the young man who then backed out of the room without saying another word.
“So Holli how have you been enjoying your day as a K-Pop idol?” Val asked allowing the smile that she had been hiding to appear.
“It has been very stressful,” Holli told Val in an accented form of English.
“Why has it been stressful,” Val asked.
“Well there was rehearsal earlier and then there was what Oppa told me about the American concert.” Holli continued.
“I thought you would have been happy about going to America. I mean it is what you and the girls have been working towards for such a long time.” Val replied.
“I Know we have but it was such a surprise. No wait that was you, you are the true member of the group, not me.” Holli told her.
“Sorry I couldn’t resist you seemed so genuinely excited about the concert, I didn’t want to upset you,” Val told her.
“That’s not your fault Val. I was excited about the concert, I seem to be losing myself to this life more and more. “Holli told her.
“What do you mean losing yourself?.” Val asked Holli trying to make it sound as if she knew nothing about what was happening.
“I am having problems remembering things about my life before today before I became the person I am now,” Holli told her.
“What kind of things?” Came Val’s question.
“Things like where I grew up,” Holli told her.
“That’s easy to fix. I did some research on the group before I came here and backed it up on my cloud account. Give me one moment to access it and we can check it. Val said to the young woman in front of her hoping that she wouldn’t notice all that she had said.
“You would do that do that for me?” Holli asked.
“Of course, I would. I just need a moment or two.” Val said with her fingers metaphorically crossed.
Holli sat there waiting on baited breath waiting for Val to access the file she needed.
“Here it is do you want me to read it or will you do it?” Val asked.
“Can you read it please Val? I can speak English but I can’t read it.” Holli told her.
“No problem,” Val replied as she opened the document.
Holli looked nervous as Val looked at the screen and began to read.
“I will only read the information on you.” She said
Holli nodded at the older woman.

“I Can send you a copy if you want me to but I will need your email address for that.” Val Told Holli.
“Yes please,” Holli told her with a wide smile as she wrote down her email address for Val.
“Not a problem.”
"브라이튼이 아니라는 걸 알았어요." (I knew it wasn't Brighton.) Holli said to herself.
“What was that?” Val asked her.
“Oh, nothing,” Holli told her.
“I have never understood why you don’t like Hyun-Hee. I think it sounds great, I would love my name to mean virtuous. What do I get stuck with strong, healthy, and brave? I wonder what my parents were thinking.” Val said to Holli.
“I think your name is lovely. I really must thank you for clearing things for me. Is there anything I can do for you?” Holli asked.
“Well, you could read this for me,” Val replied.
“I told you I can’t not read English,” Holli told her.
“That’s why I had it translated into Korean,” Val said.
“You Westerners think of everything. Since you helped me it’s the least I can do.” Holli said still smiling.
“Just like the last time but this time once in English and once in Korean Please?” Val asked Holli as she passed her the piece of paper.
“You Westerners and your games,” Holli said as she took the paper and began to read.
“One Blonde to another. One country to another. One culture to another. One image to another. One history to another”
"하나 금발 에게 또 다른. 하나 국가 에게 또 다른. 하나 문화 에게 또 다른. 하나 영상 에게 또 다른. 하나 역사 에게 또 다른."
“Thank you Hyun-Hee. Oh my look at the time I suppose I had better get going you will need all the sleep you can get, you have a busy day ahead of you.” Val said trying not to look too pleased with herself.
“Please Val don’t call me Hyun-Hee you know I don’t like it but I will let you away with this time,” Holli told her with a smile as she called security to escort Val out of the room.
“Sorry, I will try and remember. I will see you tomorrow before you leave.” Val told her.
“I hope so,” Holli said as Val left the room.
Val had to try and contain herself until she reached her room. Once there she broke in to laugh that she had ever had. “I have almost escaped now that Hyun-Hee Mok is in the world just a little bit longer and I am free,” Val said in between the giggles.
Back upstairs
"나는 서양인들을 결코 이해할 수 없을 것이다." (I will never understand Westerners.) Holli said out loud as she began to get ready for her bed.
