When synchronizing with Kageya, they were able to pair up well enough. Kazuki could not help to notice that Kageya refused to talk to him in the generated world: a big meadow. He would simply arrive, suit up, get the position orders from the commanding officer, place himself in the simulator, and then get into the proper position. It did not matter if Kageya was Topping or Bottoming. Even if Kazuki wanted to start a conversation, he would not get a response from his partner. He had learned that very quickly. Kageya and Kazuki got along outside the simulation though. Since he had taken the Top serum and paired with Kageya, he was not going to Bottom when on a mission. The first month was to confirm he had taken to the serum well. When Kageya was Topping, Kazuki would often look over his shoulder at his partner. Kageya had to look at Kazuki to connect the pulses. It was needed to get their Shine working. However, once he put the White Pulse into Kazuki's Black Pulse, Kiseki would look off to the side. There was not much to be done about the situation. They were 1 month in.
They had 5 more to go. As time when on, Kazuki figured out the disconnect between outside of the simulations and inside their generated world. It was all the mutations that Kageya went through. While they were both outcasts on the base, it was easy for them to connect and bond due to that shared experience. However that was not the case inside their world. There were only 2 people in it: Kazuki and Kageya. For all of the shit that Kazuki got for being only half Japanese and having his red hair, he was still 100% human and everyone recognized it. Kageya had pointed ears and a long monkey-like tail with a brush at the end. Compared to Kazuki, it was clear that he was the the only freak there. Since Kazuki was the Top, Kageya would always be the one showing his ass and the tail right above it to his partner. He was the Bottom in this partnership after all. Frankly, he was really ashamed of it. Kazuki felt bad, but he could not lie to him. There was no point. Kageya's mutations were weird. Seeing the tail flop around as he tried to connect was odd. He once tried to move it. Kageya moaned.
