Kazuki's relationship with his partner was actually bad. Because Kazuki was a Switch with a preference towards Topping, the commanding officer wanted to run a ton of simulations in the smaller hanger. It was a massive stress test. The first 2 times he was on call, he had to Top. The next 2 times he had to bottom. Each session featured the synchronizing 6 times in a row. The tests reminded them of the older Genji, Ichita, Kyoji and Hametsu. All of them did 9 in a row. It was amazing. Even though they were pretty tired and wobbly at the end, it showed how much the serum helped all of the pilots. Now that Kazuki had the serum, 6 sessions in a row was easy. Before, he had reached his limit and could not stand after just 2 in the same day. The former Squad 4 was pretty close knit. Whenever Kazuki went to talk to the still nervous Kenji, at least 2 others would be there already. If Miyabi was not there at the time, he soon would be. He always had a snide, or sometimes racist comment to make. Kazuki hated him. Kiseki, if he was there, would do everything in his power to not look at Kazuki.
When synchronizing with Miyabi, they were able to pair up well enough. That was not the problem. Kazuki could tell that the black haired boy did not like him. That was fine. Kazuki did not like him either. If Miyabi at least kept it all to himself when they had to be together, Kazuki could ignore it and move on. Even if Kazuki wanted to start a conversation, he would not get a pleasant response from the his partner. He had learned very quickly. Since he had taken the Bottom serum and paired with Miyabi, he was not going to Top when on a mission. The first month was just to confirm that he had taken to the serum well. When Miyabi was Topping, Kazuki would often look over his shoulder at his partner. Miyabi had to look at Kazuki to connect the pulses. It was needed to get their Shine working. However, he did it in the most demeaning way possible. He would slap Kazuki's ass with the pulse a bit before slamming it in. Once he put the White Pulse into Kazuki's Black Pulse, Miyabi would rock his hips. It was if he was humping Kazuki. There was not much to be done about the toxic situation.
They were only 1 month in. They still had 5 more to go. When Miyabi was the one Bottoming, he took it to a whole new level of insufferable. If Kazuki even tried to take a second to hold the black haired boy by the hips in order to steady himself, the hands would be swatted at by Miyabi. "Not on your fucking life, loser!" he would snap with a scowl on his face. When Kazuki would roll his eyes and connect the pulses on his own without touching him, the nasty boy would tighten up and rock his hips back and forth again. It was clear what he was up to. Miyabi was also upset with this pairing. However, instead of sucking it up, he wanted to get out of it. The way he tried to get out of it was to sabotage Kazuki. It would kill 2 birds with one stone. On one hand, it the pair could not properly synchronize, they would need new partners. On the other hand, Kazuki having a Pulse Burst would be something that he would use to mock and belittle Kazuki forever. It would be a win-win situation for Miyabi. While Kazuki would also really like to be free of the bastard, he did not want to be the one at fault here.
