"The challenges show how much of what you were is what you still are. We have until the orange light returns.... after which, only one can be victorious."
Carly wasn't sure what that meant. She decided she definitely needed to teach the Sisterhood how to talk more like soft bodies.
With a little help from Victoria Carly moved the first time in several hours. She had long since lost track of how long it had been since had been attached to her pedestal. No wait it wasn’t her pedestal it belonged to Dalia; this was the last time she volunteered to help out one of her friends after all that was how all of this had started. She looked towards the door of the store thinking that all she needed to do was run.
“I wouldn’t do that if I was you former soft body.” Came a voice from in front of her. This was the first time since she had been placed on that pedestal that she had actually heard a voice with her ears and not inside her head.
She turned and looked towards the voice and saw a blonde mannequin, dressed in a white lace top and dark blue jeans, standing there. The mannequin had long blonde hair styled in loose waves. She is wearing a sleeveless white cropped top with lace detailing at the neckline and hem. The top was paired with dark-washed blue skinny jeans. The mannequins were bare, she had a neutral expression, neither happy nor sad.
“Do what ?” Carly asked the figure in front of her.
“Try and make a run for it, that’s what.” The Mannequin told her.
“Dalia you know as well as any of the sisterhood that we do not fight with another sister,” Victoria told The mannequin who Carly now knew was Dalia.
“I was not fighting with her. We may be competing against each other, but I am as bound by our laws as she is.” Dalia replied.
“What were you doing then?” Carly asked.
“Simply offering advice. If you were to try and run that would show the others that I was correct, and you belong here and you don’t accept this.” Dalia told Carly with a smile developing on her face.
“She is right sister. Once you were stopped the judgment of the others would go against you and Dalia would win the challenges.” Victoria informed Carly.
“You wouldn’t want that to happen would you former soft body?” Dalia asked.
“I do not, I just want to go back to my old life. The one I had before the start of the day.” Carly told the two mannequins standing in front of her.
“Wait here I will find the others, because we move now, we cannot speak in our heads as we have been,” Victoria told the two of them as she went to find the others of the group.
“Dalia while we have a moment, I need to know why are you doing all of this?” Carly asked the mannequin standing in front of her.
“It is as I said former soft body I want to take from you what you have taken from me,” Dalia replied.
“But that is impossible. People will notice that you are not me.” Carly told her.
“So you are telling me that one of the unchanging cannot take the place of a soft body without someone noticing is that right?” Dalia asked.
“Yes, exactly,” Carly told her.
“Well, no one has before,” Dalia replied as she walked away in the same direction that Victoria had.
Before Carly even had time to follow Dalia and ask her anything else Victoria returned. “Come sister it is time for the challenge of removal.” She said as she took Carly’s hand gently in hers and guided her towards the others.
