Miyabi said "No way, oni. I'm busy right now." Kazuki nodded his head. "Come back later." Kiseki said, glaring at his squad mate. It was a very firm dismissal. They did not want to associate with Kazuki. That was noted by the natural redhead. It was not like he was unused to this type of treatement. He went back to his own squad. After standing around them for a minute, the instructors went to the front. They had the 4 Shines in a hanger. They were going to bring them over. Not only were their mechas stored in the massive building, there was also a large on-call lounge. That was where the 8 pilots would spend the day they needed to be on call. All of them were going to be taken over there so that they could see it. First, they needed to take off their pilot suits. There was no need to have them on. Also, it would be a pain to clean. With that being the case, they would be able to go over and look at it together. Once they had taken off their pilot suits, it was time to go over. Miyabi approached him with a smirk. "Aren't you ready to go yet!? We have to go see what we're going to be piloting."
As turnabout was fair play, Kazuki smiled at him and said "I'm busy right now. Come back later." He then turned to Eiji to ask a question. Kazuki knew the boy would run with whatever he was given. Eiji began talking for about 5 minutes, mostly about how great he was, before giving him a chance to respond. Miyabi was still standing by the whole time. All he could do at that point was stand there. It was clear that he was very annoyed. That was exactly what Kazuki wanted. It was a power move meant to show that Miyabi was not going to be bossing him around in the partnership. If Miyabi thought he could just take Kazuki for granted, he was wrong. It was only then that the smug Kazuki let the conversation end. He turned back to Miyabi and said "Sorry about that. I'm ready to go now." Miyabi rolled his eyes and said "Finally! Let's go." It was a massive hangar that the shines were all stored in. The building was 3 times bigger than the hangar where the simulation cockpit was held. It was on the opposite end of the base's land. Once they got there, the shutters covering them were raised.
Marveling at the sheer size and design took the breath of the boys away. They would be the ones piloting them. For the Bottoms, they would be the ones interfacing with those massive machines to put their consciousness in. It was a crazy thought. They would become the Shine. For the Tops, they would be the one operating the mecha in combat and deployment. They would take control and use these giant machines to fight for humanity. "As you know, the Radiant Ones are the ones who have given us the Shines. Their technology is advanced to the point we would need centuries to get it on our own." the lead scientist said. The head instructor scoffed. "These Shines are as easy for them to make as tanks and fighter jets are for us humans. They're just stingy and only gave us 4." he grumbled out loud. That information was new. Each team having their own personal Shine would be amazing. Having to rotate when on call did not bother Kazuki all that much however. They were all identical. Learning the many controls and functions of one Shine would mean learning how to pilot them all.
