Carly saw Ashleigh start to walk across the store from her vantage until she left her field of vision. She was to close her eyes behind the blue contact lenses that Ashleigh had put in her eyes and began to meditate. One of her teachers had taught her at university. She thought that she would use this skill to help her through her day as a human mannequin when she caught sight of herself in a mirror that had been placed just off to her side.
The image she could see in the mirror showcased four female mannequins three of which appeared to be realistic with lifelike features and wigs styled as blonde hair, while the fourth mannequin is a more traditional white plastic type.
Mannequin 1: Wearing a sleeveless, calf-length denim dress and beige pumps.
Mannequin 2: Wearing a sleeveless white lace top, cropped dark wash jeans, and beige pumps.
Mannequin 3: Wearing a light teal two-piece outfit consisting of a sleeveless crop top and a pencil skirt. She also wears beige pumps.
Mannequin 4 (traditional): Wearing a sleeveless grey dress with a tie belt at the waist and white pumps.
Each of the mannequins stood on individual circular black platforms. Behind them are racks of clothing in a variety of colours and styles.
It took her a second to realize that the mannequin she had called mannequin 1 was her. She was shocked as to how much like a mannequin she looked. Wow, no one will be able to tell me apart from the other mannequins she thought to herself. It was just as that thought entered her head she heard a voice.
“Welcome sister.”
Carly could not tell where the voice had come from and could not see anyone in the mirror. So, she thought that one of the other two women must be playing a trick on her, so she chose to ignore it and start her meditation. Not that she could do much about it anyway.
