Eating a meal together while watching something on the television felt nice. Thinking on it, he had not have the privilege of doing something like in a really long time. The last time it happened was with his parents. As his eyes began to water, Natsuki leaned over to wipe it away. He had not noticed that he was on the verge of crying. It had honestly startled him. "So-sorry! I don't know what happened." he stammered as he scooted away. She looked at him and frowned. "It's okay to cry." she said softly. As a boy and someone in his position, he did not think so. Kazuki began to frown. "I know that. But if I did, I don't think I would be able to stop crying." he said as he turned his head away from her. She looked a bit hurt. There was nothing that he could do about it at that point. He was not ready to be vulnerable with Natsuki. It looked like their relationship would be harder than he had thought. The baggage he was carrying was not going to be unpacked in a single day. He certainly was not going to do it with a person that he had only known for 2 days. They both would need some more time.

Kazuki did not want their time together to end like that. He looked at the set up easel again. There was an opportunity to do something. "How about you sketch me? I will stay still so you can draw me. It can be when you're done eating though." he said quickly. She looked over at the easel as well. "I can do that for you." she said in a conciliatory tone. She also wanted to get past this rough spot. It really was not her fault. He was just a bit too new at this to get comfortable. Kazuki just hoped she knew that. Their food was abandoned for the moment. He pulled the chair in front of the easel and sat down. Kazuki did not know about modeling. He was simply going to do whatever he was told. Natsuki sat behind the easel. She had a set of colored pencils there. There was a minute or two lifting the red ones to her eyes. She wanted to use the proper hue. Kazuki waited for it with baited breath. If she had the perfect color there, he wanted her to find it. It seemed that she was very comfortable directing him for capturing what she wanted to draw. She eventually found the ones she wanted.

Posing as directed was harder than he had initially thought. Staying in place was not good for him. When his head or body drifted, she would remind him. "Please keep it up." she would say. Kazuki tried his best to do it. When he had complained the third time, she flashed a glare at him. That startled him for a second. Natsuki really was taking this sketch seriously. Seeing that actually made him more interested in what they were doing. What he had to do was to hold still in a pose. Legs together, facing forward, hands on lap with a closed mouth smile. Honestly, how hard can it be to do that? Kazuki was going to try his best and hope it was good enough. It actually was hard to do it. However, he was going to do his best. He had become a Shine pilot for the U.N. This was child's play by comparison. Natsuki did his best to direct him. She also did her best to work with what she had. When she was done with it, she called him over. It had been over half an hour. When he came over, he saw a stick figure. It was just that. He did a double take. He was so confused, it all showed on his face.
