Verifying that it was all in the correct spot took a few minutes. Once they made the determination, it was time to give him the serum. The doctor looked over all his signed paperwork to confirm his choice. Kazuki told her that it was correct and watched her pick it up from the table. It was then given directly to his spinal cord. It did not hurt like he was thinking it would. Kazuki still was really uncomfortable with the pressure he was feeling there. Once it was done, the doctor and the attendant at the big X-ray machine looked over the results together. After confirming the success, they bandaged the injection site and wrapped gauze all around his lower body. Kazuki was then watched for about 20 minutes after the injection before going back to the barracks on his own. Jiro was scared of needles and was going last. Both Minato and Eiji had already left. He was a bit tender all over his body from the rapid pace of injections he had endured the last couple of days. He was not done either. Kazuki would not be finished until their third day when he had gone through another round of vaccination.

Sighing deeply was all that he could do about that knowledge. He was a U.N. sanctioned Shine pilot and no one could take that away from him now. It was just a little bit of pain now to protecting from a world of suffering later. It had been how Kazuki had lived his life from the point he was orphaned until now. He could hold on longer. The payoff would definitely be worth it. Resting in bed was what he was advised to do by the base's doctor. He was going to listen. He did not feel like he had the energy to do much else at the moment. All of his squad mates seemed to feel the same way when they got to their cots. Minato had talked a big game at the start, but he was just as laid out as the rest of them. To his credit, he was not whining or complaining about it though. Minato was right about one thing. This was all part of the job when it came to being a man in the military. Having a disease spread among the defenders of humanity would be catastrophic for Earth. The spinal injections they just took was a mark of being a qualified pilot. Sometimes, in life you had to go along to get along.

Personally, Kazuki was not a huge fan of needles. He did not like all of this happening to him in the infirmary. He was able to get past it to enjoy his rewards. Namely his new tailored pilot suit and his comfort woman. Kazuki just hoped that she was both nice and pretty. It was a niggling thought in the back of his mind that they would give him the meanest and ugliest one in the bunch because they hated him for only being half Japanese. Minato's abuse and the disinterest from the instructors and staff gave him that impression. If he had to choose between being nice to him or being pretty, Kazuki would prefer that his comfort woman be nice. He wanted a family and a deep connection to someone of his own blood. He would not be able to enjoy any peace if the girl given to him was a total bitch. Even if she was ugly, he was pretty sure that he could fuck her. As a Top, it was his job to get his pulse up while he mounted another boy. He was straight. If he could mount a boy, he could get it up for a girl if it was in a relationship where she was kinder. Kazuki still had his third day of injection.
