He still had to answer all those crucial questions. Did he actually like to Top? Did he actually like to Bottom? Was that something he wanted to do for real in combat? Was he interested in doing both roles? What did he want for himself? It was something very important. The U.N. piloting job was already his. Kazuki was already being given a comfort woman for him to start a family with. That was all of his major needs taken care of. He had to focus on his real desires now. He spent the first few days thinking about it by himself. Kazuki spent until he got the call to walk down with his squad mates to the infirmary thinking about it. When he stepped inside and saw the female doctor waiting for them, he knew that he needed to make his final decision. There were no take backs after the serum was administered. She gave them all a form telling them what vaccines they would take. They also had to write in which serum they wanted and sign the form. Whatever he chose to take would be permanent. Kazuki took a deep breath as he made his final decision. Kazuki would take in both their serums.
Due to the fact that there were a cocktail of vaccines to get through, they needed to be pricked all over. Some of the vaccines were Intramuscular. That meant that they needed to inject it directly into the muscles. An Intravenous vaccine was injected straight into a vein. Apparently there were benefits to each approach depending on the vaccine in question. To make sure that there was not an overload on their bodies ability to handle and incorporate the medicine, there would be some done on their first day and the rest on their third. Radiant One technology was amazing, but the human body still had to learn how to deal with all these foreign diseases. The serum would also be administered on the second day. The best places for an IM injection were the anterolateral thigh muscle and the the deltoid muscle of the arm. Luckily, they only had 2 arms and 2 legs. Unfortunately, they had many more vaccines to take for safety precautions than that. Because of this fact, they would also be taking 2 big shots to the glutes. Getting stabbed by a needle in each of his ass cheeks was not pleasant.
For Kazuki and rest of Squad 3, all they were left with was a stinging, burning sensation all over their bodies and a sense of deep fatigue. Once it was done, they were all told to go back to the barracks to rest for the rest of the day by the doctor. That suited Kazuki just fine. He laid on his stomach on his cot. His body was actively trying to learn and combat these diseases. It would be crucial should he come into contact with them. Humans could die in a ton of different ways dealing with hostile aliens. They got a gruesome picture in the briefing. Getting sick was the most anti-climactic and yet possibly the worse way to go. Those photos were also included. Kazuki honestly could not tell which were more disgusting. Being able to prevent the diseases from killing him by getting some shots beforehand was a simple choice. The next day, all of them went back. It was time to get the serum injected in the spinal column. Spinal injections are performed under X-ray guidance to ensure that the medication is placed correctly. Contrast liquid is injected before the medication to confirm the placement.
It meant there was going to be another injection to the spine on top of the one delivering the serum. That was a tough pill to swallow. Minato went up first. Everyone else in the squad was fine with letting him volunteer himself to test it first. He said "It's really not that big of a deal. All pilots go through it. Don't be cowards." With that typical snark, everyone was now willing to do it just for the chance to shut him up. None of them were cowards. When it was Kazuki's turn he was nervous. He had to take off all his clothes as he got on the table. The needle was going in 4 vertebrae higher than his tail bone. "Remember to keep as still as possible. It is going to be a pinch like with any needle, but you can't move. It's your spine. If you fuck up a nerve, you'll be totally fucked." one of the attendants said to him. It was blunt, but Kazuki was part of the military now. He could handle it. Kazuki could feel some pressure during their injection. "Most times, the procedure is not painful. It's important not to move. The injection needs to be precise." The doctor reiterated after Kazuki's grunt. Their fluid was all in.
