Miraculously, all 3 groups managed to succeed. They were dismissed, but told to return for the evening session. Kazuki was free to go as he had done his last attempt. It was the result of starting early. He was going to stick around. Haruki and Aito were still deep in it. Kazuki wanted to be there for his partners. Both of them seemed to appreciate it. The evening had Aito and Akio, Haruki and Kenji and then Haruto and Kaito attempting to synchronize. The last scheduled attempt of the shakeup would be with Aoi and Jiro. Speaking of them, Aoi and Jiro had been a major surprise. Aoi had Bottomed for Jiro. Minato was with them. He looked really upset. "I thought that we were going to stick to our roles." Minato said to his twin. Aoi crossed his arms. "You decided to break that rule. Why can't I?" he challenged. "I was testing that redheaded half-blood! He needed to be put in his place." was the answer. Aoi scoffed. "You failed at Topping. A Pulse Burst is not good piloting. I managed to succeed at Bottoming this fool. I think that says it all." he said. Jiro looked totally insulted. Minato did as well.
Kazuki could care less whether Minato's feelings were hurt. He just let Jiro deal with it for the time being. Getting between the twins sounded like an absolute pain. They would annoy him. Aito and Akio needed to get in the proper headspace. They were going next. All the pairings needed to, to be completely fair. The blond twins, Haruto and Haruki, in particular concerned him. They were both riding at 1-1 right now. Their third attempt would be their last. Kazuki was sure that both Kenji and Kaito would like to succeed one more time to get to 6. Haruki would probably do his best to set Kenji up to do well in front of everyone. Kazuki was not sure that Haruto would do the same for Kaito if it was a necessary part of getting a connection to work. Haruto seemed like he would leave Kaito high and dry if given a reason to. That reason could be a simple as asking Haruto to Top. It was very strange but unfortunate that Kaito was not the teenage heartthrob of Haruto's dreams. Not only did their boys need to have serious Top potential, they liked so-called "short kings." Whatever all of that had meant.
Being that this was the case, there was no way in hell that Haruto would ever let someone like Kaito Top him. It was part of what the shakeup was about. Sometimes you got a bad deal. On the other hand, he was able to get at least 2 successful synchronizations. Once with Kenji and once with Haruto. Haruki probably also would not be open to letting him do it either. Kazuki did not have a problem with Kaito. He would not mind if Kaito wanted to Top him. They got to move around and take a long break if they wanted. Otherwise, they stayed where they were. When it was time to go to the evening session, it was time to get everything over with. Everyone had passed the shakeup. All that was left for them to do was finish strong to pad out their records some more. Haruki and Kenji volunteered to go up first. First to go meant they would be the first to finish and leave. Kaito and Haruto would be next. After that was Aito and Akio. Jiro and Aoi would be the last ones. It was time for everyone to start. Since they had volunteered, Haruki and Kenji stood and went towards their cockpit. It was tense.
