Haruto and Kaito were able to make a connection and maintain it until the simulation reached the 3 minute mark. Both of them were really pleased with the results. They had done what they had set out to do. That was successfully synchronize with each other. Instructors began to applaud them. Everyone joined in for the second time of the day. The instructors made sure to give Kaito his pats on the back and shake his hand enthusiastically to as they congratulated him on getting his fifth success. Kaito would be staying in the program on base after all. He was puffing out his chest while this was happening. They clearly did not expect him to be able to do it. There still was time to improve his record. If he could synchronize in the evening, it would be recorded as 6 successes throughout the 11 weeks the boys had been there. Kenji also would have another attempt to get to 6. They were going to have to wait along with their partners. Now that the morning session was over with, everyone was dismissed for the rest of their morning. It was very optional for those not in the shakeup to return.
They made it mandatory for everyone in the shakeup to come back as everyone still had to go again at least once. Kazuki was only going in once, but it was during their afternoon session. Everyone left the big hangar and went outside for a breather. Lunch would not be served by the canteen staff for another hour, and there was still an hour block for lunch before they had to return for the continuation of the shakeup's final day. Kazuki went to Kaito to personally congratulate him. He was genuinely really happy that Kaito was going to stay. He was in a very good mood. Haruto was looking pretty subdued in comparison. Kazuki wondered why that was. Haruto shrugged and said "We got one more to do. Let's get it over with." It was an odd response from him. Haruki was also down in the dumps, but that was understandable. They had a rather public failure. Haruki in particular had a Pulse Burst. It was not the best look when in front of everyone. Kazuki looked at the 4 and clapped his hands to get all of their attention. They turned to him. He said "Listen up. You passed it. Go out your best."
Since they had time, they walked around for a bit. Kenji and Kaito were not really that talkative. Kenji was looking down and trying to avoid any special attention. He was a shy boy. Kaito was looking from left to right as if to see if there was anything to get in their way. Spending time together improved the twins' moods. Kazuki would ask them why they were so down later. For now, they needed to get themselves together in time for their next attempt at synchronizing. Not only for both of them, but for their partners. They also ate together. Aito and Jiro both needed to be with their current partners more than Kazuki at the moment. Kazuki understood that and took the time to check up on his new friends. Halfway through their meal, Haruto put his fork down and looked at Kazuki. "I need to talk to you for a bit Kazu." he said. Kazuki nodded his head and stood up right away. This was probably his chance to see what the deal was with him. The pair left the mess hall and stood on the outside. Kazuki just looked at him, waiting for him to start. Haruto said "I feel bad for him, Kazu. I really don't get it."
