Finally, she turned to Jonnie, and an idea began to form amongst the fear, paranoia, and anger that currently suffused her being. After all, it was Jonnie and Sarah who had created this mess, right. It was their fault that she was caught up in this entire situation. So why should she have to deal with the consequences of their reckless wishing? Let them sort it out themselves!
"Karyn?" Jonnie's soft feminine voice whispered, "Please say something... anything..."
As if on cue, she started to speak, "I wish..."
"Karyn!"
"...that when Jonnie wished for Sarah to grow a new body, her fetus had taken root in Jonnie's womb! I'm sorry," she whispered immediately afterwards, "I was too afraid," tears rolled down her cheek. Instantly she knew it had worked.
The shocked expression on Jonnie's face broke her heart, but that had been a pretty specific wish. Even if she wanted to, she wasn't sure that she could reverse it. Feeling sympathetic, she made another wish.
"I wish that, until the pregnancy is over, Jonnie really will be this sixteen-year-old Asian girl in mind and body. Once the pregnancy is over, in whatever form that end might take, all of Jon's memories will return and he will remember everything. Until then he will forget about the rock and Sarah. Jonnie will believe herself to be nothing more than another unwed teen mother to be, and my best freind."
Once again the light flashed.
"Thanks for listening Kar," Jonnie said, leaning up to give her best freind in the world a peck on the cheek, "I don't know how I'd get through this whole thing without you." Picking up her purse and slinging it over her shoulder, she left.
