Due to Eiji's successful run at Bottoming, he was given the blue pant legs to attach to the tan training suit. Kazuki was his partner for the last week of the program. Eiji was the shortest member of the squad. Kazuki avoided Eiji during the first half of the program because he was Minato's partner. He clung jealously onto Minato for those first 5 weeks. After that was done, it was clear that it was just a partnership of mutual convenience. Eiji wanted to ride Minato to a quick certification, Minato wanted a lackey that would do whatever he said. After the 5th week, Eiji was done. He wanted to Bottom and try to become a Switch. Minato was perfectly capable of doing his job no matter who the partner Topping him was. There was no love lost there. Kazuki could respect that. He was initially only here for the room and board the UN provides to all its soldiers. He certainly was not loyal to any of the boys here on the base aside from Ryuga. The squads were isolated from each other. He only saw them in passing if that on a day to day basis. After the shakeup he would ask to transfer him to the US.
Everyone walked into the hangar on the last synchronization session a bit nervous. This was the last chance to leave a good impression on the higher ranking officers. It was another thin entirely for those under 5 successes. As it stood, Aito and Jiro were not passing. Jiro needed this session to work out or he would be cut entirely. None of them knew any details about the next stage. To add extra pressure large monitors were affixed to the cockpits. It was so everyon could see all the simulations that the partners had created. It was Minato that declared that he and Jiro would go last. He said "We should ensure the last one from our squad will be a success." It looked like he was a man of his word after all. Jiro looked a bit relieved that he did not need to preform immediately. Eiji took the opportunity to raise his hand. "I guess that means we can go in first then. he said with full confidence." Kazuki did not care what the order was of when he went. The got the visors and got into the cockpit. Kazuki was now ready to end well. When they got in the simulation, Eiji looked at him. "Top or Bottom?"
Kazuki looked at him in confusion. "What are you talking about? I thought you wanted to Bottom." he asked the smaller boy. Eiji scoffed. "I wanted to be a Switch. I got it already, so I don't care anymore. What do you want to do!?" he answered. Kazuki knew what he wanted. "I want to Bottom. I want to be a Switch too." he said directly. It did not hurt Kazuki at all to say what he wanted. Eiji smirked as he nodded his head at him. "I thought so. You did say so earlier. Not everyone can be as great as me, but it is nice to see people try. I can help you get a bit more experience as a Bottom pilot before the end." Kazuki got into position and started to emit his Black Pulse. He had managed to get a career best of 72. That was more than enough for Eiji, a bit rusty at Topping, to work with. They were able to comfortable synchronize with a stable connection. When the world faded to black, Kazuki was satisfied by his progress over the last 2 and a half months. He had accomplished quite a bit. Pretty good for the half Japanese orphan. He was the Red Oni of Yakota Air Base. Kazuki was very proud.
