Jonnie wondered at first if the wish would fail, since Karyn hadn't said the words "I wish" in English, but since the stone was an Incan stone and its native language wasn't English anyway, it obviously didn't care about languages.
"Is it over?" said Jonnie, in English. And then she yelled "Yes!"
"Almost" said Karyn. "I wish that I had what I meant when I wished for a little Chinese, so the wish was satisfied without Jonnie being a little Chinese person." Jonnie transformed back, at which Karyn was very relieved. Not only that, but a takeout carton of something was in Karyn's hand.
"Smells like chicken," said Jonnie.
"I'm sure it's chicken," said Karyn, "but I'm not finished yet. I wish that you weren't merged with Sarah and that Sarah was herself again."
Nothing happened.
"She can't be herself" said Jonnie. I wished I'd be... I mean Sarah would be... a doll. Dammit, my mind is getting mixed up with Sarah."
"I wish," said Karyn, "that Sarah's soul would be separate from Jonnie's and that Sarah would grow a new body right here while the old one stays a doll."
"Whoa!" said Jonnie. "I suddenly no longer have this desire to go cheerleading... But where did Sarah go?"
"I don't know... wait, Jonnie, you..."
