Practicing with Ryuga during the mental conditioning worked well. Both of them focused on making their pulses as potent as possible. Ryuga's Black Pulse was the best yet at 48. For Kazuki, he was amazed that he was able to make it all the way to 57 with his White Pulse. He was totally naked with his proud beam of energy erect. That was a great sign. It was the moment of truth. Kazuki took his partner gently by the hips. "Let's hope this works." he said as he pressed his White Pulse closer to the black spot showing through his briefs. Ryuga jolted forward with a yelp. "What happened to you!? Are you okay!?" Kazuki demanded. Ryuga shook his head. "I'm... I'm fine. I just... can feel you in me." Kazuki was going to make a rude comment, but he then heard something in the back of his mind. It was thought that was not his. It was a tiny memory that Ryuga had a few years ago. "We did it! We did it, Ryuga!!" Kazuki cheered in a state of pure joy. Ryuga was also happy. Not only did they connect, but they were able to hold it for 2 whole minutes before their simulation faded away to black.
All the training cockpits were meant to simulate the conditions of a sortie. If it took longer than 5 minutes, it would time out. However, if it was completed before 3 minutes had elapsed, they would instantly succeed if they could hold it when the timer reached the 3 minute mark. The ideal deployment time for Glowies was a connection within the 3 minutes. This was the first success that either of them recorded. Both of them were breathing heavy from the unintentional strain and a bit sweaty. That was fine. A nice shower could fix that. They would only improve their pulses with time. The pairing of Aito and Jiro had failed. Minato carried Eiji through as always. Minato was angry at the results. I smirked and said "Like I said last week, the results don't lie. The weak links weren't me and Ryuga. I was the Top and it was great. Next week, I'll bottom for Ryuga." Ryuga looked pleasantly surprised that the partnership would continue a bit longer. When the time came, they did manage to synchronize. It was easier after a bit of a breather. They had done it once before. That was their second big success.
