It was very easy to take them with us. They seemed to actually know what they were doing. The 3 of them were all off worlders. It was a sense that I had. None of them seemed to belong here. It was clear when of them started using magic powers to take on the enemies that we encountered. The enemies did not expect that. I was not either the first time. In any case, they were going to follow us back home. Their names were Jane, Kate and Marco. I had no qualms with them meeting Father. He was a strong Sage, so even magic would not hurt him. They really were not at all part of this world. They did not need to take any breaks. Even the strong adventurer needed to take one every other day. This made going back a fraction of the time it time to get here. Along the way, there was a settlement. They wanted to stock up on supplies and new clothes. Their old clothes had been taken by the slaver. I was wondering internally how they were captured if they were this strong in the first place. They had been given rags to wear while being transported. I was fine with that. They went shopping.
Paying for the clothes they wanted with the loot they took from their foes was expected in this world. When they won, they did not try to eat or mate with their enemies. It was the way the red Elitper did things. They just killed them and moved on. They asked if we wanted something from the shops. Eating something tastier than the old fire roasted Ekans meat we preserved was something we were interested in. They took us to a bakery and bought us a slice of pie. I really liked it. Clayton and Bryson liked it too. It was a cinnamon green apple pie with ice cream. Since it was getting really late in the evening, they wanted to sleep at the tavern. "You don't need to sleep. Why would we waste time and resources here?" Bryson said. Kate grabbed onto Clayton's shoulder. "That was because waiting around in the wilderness is dangerous. We're here now, so let's wait here for a bit." she said. I was not totally convinced. She then looked directly up at Clayton's face. "Is that okay with you? Pleeeeease!?" He just looked at us. "Maybe it will be fine if it's only for a bit." Bryson shrugged his shoulders.
Since he did not care, it did not matter what I thought. I sighed. "We can stay, but we have to move along soon. Father is waiting for us all at home." Bryson and Clayton both nodded resolutely. They went to buy the rooms for the night. They came back with 3 keys. They only had the space here for 3 rooms. Kate went to Clayton. "I think we should share a bed." she said. Clayton scratched at his cheek. None of us were that stupid. They wanted to get at least intimate with us. Maybe all the way to sex. I went up and took a key from Jane. "Bryson and I will share a bed then. I guess that leaves Jane and Marco together." I declared. Jane looked a bit upset, but Marco had a pleased grin on his face. Bryson and I went to the room we had been assigned. For us Protectors, sleeping in the bed was easy. We did not thrash around when we dozed off. In the morning we went down. Jane looked very happy. Clayton looked very embarrassed. I was going to ask what was wrong when I saw 8 kite shields on the table next to them. "Why did you generate so many? What happened!?" He went red.
