Hours passed. They had tried dressing Nick, the young Megan, up in Megan's clothes but Megan was too phyiscally different than she was at 12, and that gave Nick the unpleasant feeling of being a young girl in her mom's clothing. She just sat in the bathrobe and tried to get her mind off of her predicament. She didn't want to be a 12-year-old girl at all, but was stuck that way until the next morning.
About 3 hours into her sentence, Mrs. Pepper, the neighbour stopped by with her dog, Fido.
"Oh hello, Megan, is Nick around?"
"Ye-" she began, but corrected herself, "no."
"Oh. Oh, hello there!" she said, waving at the little girl in the bathrobe watching Law & Order. "Who's this?"
"That's my uh, niece," Megan answered quickly, "I'm babysitting."
"Oh, she's so precious. And she looks so much like you."
Young Megan rolled her eyes.
Mrs. Pepper continued, "I was just wondering if Nick could watch Fido? I'm going out to the market and I don't trust him at home alone."
"Don't worry, you can count on us," Megan took the leash.
After Mrs. Pepper left, young Megan asked, "why did you do that? I can't watch a dog like this!"
"I didn't want to arouse suspicion. I panicked!" Megan said. The dog broke free of Megan's grip, and began to sniff around the room. The german shepherd dog made its way over to the coffee table where the Medallion was resting, and before either Megan could shout "bad dog!" it grabbed the medallion and went into the bedroom.
"Uh, Nick?" Megan asked, "Does the Medallion work on dogs?"
"I don't know, Megan," Nick answered, "did you leave anything out that could transform it?"
Megan winced, "well..."
