It took a few moments for Sarah to focus on who had the rock. The rock, it turned out, had skitted into the hallway, just in time for Vanessa McMillan, Sarah's 30-year-old mother, to get home from work. Mrs. McMillan picked up the rock, looked at it, and then walked into the room to see the madness therein.

"What the hell?" she began. "Sarah, what's going on here?"

"Ish a little hard to say, Van," said Sarah.

"Oh, God, you're drunk again! I wish you'd sober up and tell me what's happened! And tell the truth!"

Immediately, Sarah was stone cold sober. And she had no resistance to her mother's wish. After several mintues, she had told Mrs. McMillan the whole story.

Not that Mrs. McMillan knew it. "Sarah," she said, "that's the biggest pile of bullshit I've ever heard! I wish you would stop lying and grow up!"

Sarah had already stopped lying. But now, she began to grow! She was normally 5' 6". In seconds, she was 6' 6", with her body growing proportionately. Her clothes were ripping apart at the seam as she passed seven feet.

"Quick!" shouted Jon. "Wish that she would stop growing!"

By the time Mrs. McMillan had stammered the wish out, Sarah's head was just inches from the ceiling. She was doing her best to cover herself, since she was now naked. She now stood over 9 feet tall.

"My God," gasped Mrs. McMillan. "She was telling the truth!"

"She can't help but tell it," said Jon. "You wished for her to only tell the truth."

"What are we going to do? We're going to get our butts sued off! I wish I knew how to handle this!" No sooner had the words popped out than the answer was in Mrs. McMillan's head.

"Except for you two," she said to Jon and Karyn. "I wish everyone had always been like they are now! And I wish that Sarah suffered none of the usual health problems giants have!"

Mrs. McMillan, Jon, and Karyn, all had the feeling of reality shifting, swirling around them for a split-second. When the sensation passed, all the people in the room were dressed as if nothing had happened. Around the room (and the house, Mrs. McMillan soon realized) were various trophies Sarah had won for weight-lifting and girl's basketball. And, in the back of her mind, Mrs. McMillan could remember stories she had reported on for the evening news about the strange rash of human mutations that had appeared around town, and how investigators were still trying to find the causes.

"Why didn't you have our memories change, too?" asked Karyn, approaching.

"This is all so weird," said Mrs. McMillan. "I thought I'd better leave the two people who know about it the most untouched."

"Not a bad idea," said Jon.

"I don't know what's stranger. Having a giant daughter or having an honest one. Sarah used to lie all the time, and now I get nothing but the truth from her! I wish I could get the truth from everyone like that!"

Her eyes went wide as she realized what she'd just said. She knew she was going to be the greatest interviewer the news profession had ever seen!

"Mrs. McMillan," said Jon, also realizing what had happened. "I think you'd better give the rock to me."

Mrs. McMillan started to comply, but then, she hesistated ...
