Having searched everywhere for a suitable orb to serve as a prop in his latest independent film, John decided to make it himself. John stepped back from his work table and admired the softball sized green orb. Seeing his creation takes John's mind back to online story he was brining to life with his film. A man with a fetish for nylon, is frustrated by his wife and others who wear nylon around him. However, his fetish is not indulged. After a day of indulging the fetish online, he receives a mysterious package containing a green orb. When his wife returns home from work, she is entranced by it and the hose she wore for work expands into a nylon body suit that becomes one with her. This is repeated with three other women.
"Is it done?" a woman's voice pulls John from his state. He turns to see Kyla, his close friend and assistant director. Her shoulder length sandy brown hair is pulled into a ponytail. This puts her thin facial features on display. John's gaze drifts downward to Kyla's outfit, a violet sweater with the sleeves pulled halfway up the forearm. While the bulky sweater hide's Kyla's thin frame, the tight jeans do not. Kyla adjusts her black framed glasses and hands a paper to John. "That's the call sheet for tomorrow's shoot."
"Looks good." As John hands the paper back to Kyla, he gets a text alert on his cell. John's eyes narrow in anger as he reads the text. "Damnit!
"What's wrong?" Kyla asks.
John puts his phone away. "Rachel just dropped out!"
"Shit! Do you have anyone who can replace her on such short notice?"
John shakes his head, "I have a couple people who could be here by next week, but we only have the location this weekend."
Kyla ponders for a few moments, then places a hand on John's shoulder. "Rachel and I are basically the same size, I'll fill the role."
"Are you sure?"
Kyla nods, "It's not my favorite thing, being in front of the camera, but I will do it for you."
John smiles and gives his friend a hug, "thank you."
While in their embrace, the friends nearly kiss, but both pull away. "We already tried that," Kyle says as she moves a few steps back, "it didn't work."
John is about to rebut, but thinks better of it and nods, "you're right, we are better as friends." John moves to the table and collects his orb prop. "Let's get this to set and make sure Rachel's wardrobe is going to fit you." Kyla nods and the two exit.
