"... that my extended family was having a reunion here this afternoon and the whole family will be attending," Jon began surprisingly innocuously. "I also wish a few of them would invite their friends or partners along. I wish that, at some point after everyone arrives, an event would happen that caused everyone a the reunion to have their body swapped with someone else there including me. I wish the switches would be random except for mine. I wish everyone would find themselves incapable of revealing the switch to anyone who wasn't switched themselves, including in writing and so on. I wish everyone will be able to access enough of their host body's skills to avoid destroying eachother's lives. I wish the switch would last until I choose to end it and the stone would disappear until such a time, at which point it will reappear in my hands." It was a real mouthful but Jon thought he'd covered everything as the stone winked away from his hands.
"JON!" his mom, Linda, yelled from downstairs, "I need you and Karyn to get the table set! Everyone's going to be arriving soon!" Jon got up with a jolt and emerged into a house rushing to get ready to host the hold extended clan, including Karyn who stepped out of the bathroom. The former redhead gave him a rueful grin, "I appreciate the invite to come hang with your cousins at this reunion, Jon-boy, but I didn't realize I'd be drafted into the party preparation committee."
"Uh, sorry" Jon apologized as the two headed downstairs. He had to assume his wish for some people to bring guests had led to Karyn being here, but it presented a bit of a problem since she knew about the stone and would thus easily deduce the cause of what was about to happen. He didn't have time to do anything about it though as the moment they descended the stairs, his mom set them to work trying to make the home look presentable. Together with his siblings and Zoe they dashed about, doing last minute cleaning, helping with lunch prep and all the other things Linda wanted done.
Finally, as they were dusting the top of the book shelf, something Jon was confident nobody would even be able to see to care about, he leaned in towards Karyn and whispered, "hey, just so you know I made a wish for a bit of fun that's going to take effect in a minute. Don't worry, I worded it so it's reversible."
Karyn gave him a skeptical look, holding a strand of her now blonde hair, "you sure about that?"
Jon nodded eagerly, "totally. It's, uh, going to be a bit surprising, but just try and go with the flow okay? You might have fun."
Karyn crossed her arms below her newly enlarged chest and said, "Jon-boy what did you-"
DING DONG
Jon was quite literally saved by the bell as the doorbell rang, signalling the first arrival.
