“Hi Ms Smith how are you. Yes I know Mom asked you to look in on me while she was away this weekend.” Tina said answering her phone sounding nervous. “No everything is fine. We spoke earlier about you not needing to come over. You still want to make sure everything is ok and will be over in an hour or so. Ok, I will see you then.” She turned to Jon to let him know what was happening. “I swear it's as bad as my Mom having a friend who is a teacher at school sometimes.” She told him with an almost red face. “I need to head home so that I am there for her arrival or who knows what she will tell my Mom.” She finished.
It's okay Tina I was thinking of taking tonight to plan my next step. I want to get proactive with this instead of reactive. I always seem to be making it up as I go I want to have a plan so that no matter what they do next I am ready for them.” Jon told her.
“You sound determined Jon Boy. I don’t think I have seen you like this for a long time. If that is what you want to do that’s what we will do. I will try and come up with some ideas of my own when I get rid of Ms. Smith and call you with them in case we need some wishing help with them.” Tina replied looking at her best friend trying to work out what was going through his head but failing. She said her goodbyes to him and left to face whatever awaited her at home with Ms Smith.
Jon spent the next few hours trying to come up with a plan as he had told Tina he wanted to but he only had half of the information he needed to do so. He knew some of the people who had been replaced but not all of them. He knew that Sarah had replaced his sister Zoe and that Zoe had replaced Tina. Tina herself had replaced Karyn but Karyn was still missing. According to Dr. Schreber, she was still fighting the blue men at their warehouse. He had seen someone being carried in to replace Tiff but he did not know who it was. He knew there were more around the town there had to be more but he was not sure who or why they had been replaced. Until he knew that, any plan he came up with may not work.
About half an hour later Jon heard his front door open then close as Sarah came back from her night out. He knew that she was trying to make sure that she was not caught being out all night so knowing what time his Mom was due back she wanted to be back before. She just made it as his Mom returned about ten minutes later. After their meal that evening Jon went back to his room to continue to try and work out what he could do next.
A little before ten he got a message from Tina
“We need to know everyone who has been replaced before we can do anything so I have an idea that might work but it will need a little bit of magic to work. We need to be in earshot to make sure that we both know about it. So it will need to wait until the morning. See you then Jon Boy”
Jon sat looking at his phone and wondered what her plan was. He knew that he could just wish her over to his room and they could make the wish then and there but he thought it might be better to get one full night’s sleep so that he could tackle the situation that he found himself in.
