Since only the user is aware of the changes he makes, if you do a body swap, wouldn't the people involved think and act as though they had had their new bodies all their lives, which would mean they would basically be the people whose bodies they now have?
And if the user swaps himself with someone, does the person who is now in his body think that they've had his body all their life--which means that they think they're him--which means that they remember getting the remote, pressing it, and having it seem not to work, and there is now two of him (the swapped one and the other person who remembers being him their whole life so they're also basically him).
