Jon was so stunned by this bizarre twist of fate, that he wasn't prepared for Sarah's desperate attack. She (or rather 'He') was small, soft and weak...but through surprise, Sarah/Jon managed to knock Jon/Sarah against the lockers...and cause Jon to drop the wishing stone.
"What the HELL is going on in here?" The huge, mannish-looking woman roared as she stormed into the room. She was the Girls Gym Teacher, and not known for her patience.
Later that evening, Ethel was sitting at the dinner table and eating her fifth helping of lasagna (her mother was delighted that her daughters appetite had finally returned to what she thought of as 'normal') when there was a knock at her door. Ethel smiled as her mother let Sarah and Jon in.
"Hey, you two! How did that mess at school work out? Didn't you both get detention or something?"
It was true. Sarah-in-Jon's-body was punished for being caught fighting in the girls locker room. Jon-in-Sarah's-body was punished for fighting with the Gym teacher and insisting that she "Had to find the stone!".
In other words, both had had a rough day. On some levels, Sarah had it worse. After all, she'd gone from the Queen of the School, to being a short, fat, male nerd! Jon had his own, unique level of difficulty. Sarah had wished Jon to become the "... biggest slut in school!", and Sarah's own actions during the last few days had ensured that SHE was now the biggest slut in school!
"It's been HELL!" Sarah moaned. "I can't go home or ANYTHING! Jon's folks are poor and he's so....so un-cool..."
"This isn't my fault, bitch! You're the one whose stupid wishing got us into this mess! What makes you think I want to be stuck as YOU for the rest of my life? And thanks to the way you phrased that damn wish, I'm STILL the biggest slut in school! I can't resist any man who wants me! I gave three blow-jobs before I got home!"
Ethel listened to the two of them complain for a few minutes, then interrupted them.
"So...how does this interest me? I'm fine just the way I am. I don't want to go back to being that skinny little Karyn."
"So...you didn't grab the stone before you left?" Sarah asked, his voice quavering with horror.
"Heck no! I looked around for it, but I really wasn't that interested. It might still be there...or maybe someone else found it. I don't care. I'm perfectly happy being Ethel forever. Now, if you'll excuse me...I've got things to do."
