Jon and Karen smiled at each other, and Jon reached over the table to hold Karen's hand. "Well, at least we know how we feel, even if it took a wish to do it," she said. "Yeah, I was worried about it blowing our friendship-but some things are worth the risk, I guess." "Darn straight, Jon. But you know, for the next few months we are going to be the perfect geek couple, until you gain a few inches and I shed a lot of my flab. It'll be Jon the little wimp and blubberbutt Karen in the hallways." Jon smiled again. "I can live with it if you can, especially now that it's only temporary." Karen beamed, but added "You sure, Jon? Remember you'll be back to normal months before me- I'm still going to be a chubbette when you're a hunk." "I think I've got the prettiest girl in school, no matter what you weigh." JOn broke into a goofy grin. "Does that answer your question?" Karen relaxed a bit. "Yeah Jon, and you're not bad either-for a shrimp. This would be a good time for us to have our first kiss you know" And so they did.
