I sighed a bit. I knew I needed to go through this process, but in my excitement to meet up with Suzie, it had been pushed to the back of my mind. In my research about this game, I had found out that there were an astounding number of choices for each of the character options. And more were being added on a regular basis.

"Damn it." I said. I had seen some people say that they had taken a couple of hours to make their characters from scratch. It had been 4:30 pm when I turned the game on, so I had until 7:30 before my reality check kicked in. I also needed to go to bed at a reasonable time to get up for school in the morning. It was then that I noticed a button in the bottom corner. It was simply labeled "Random".

I thought back to other games that I had played with character creation systems. The random button usually created a character for you, and then you could change it to suit your needs. I smiled to myself. This could be the answer to my problems. With this, I wouldn't have to start from scratch. The game could create a character for me, and I'd mess with it until it suited my needs.

"Perfect." I said. I happily pressed the button and got ready to make the changes to whatever character was the result.

However, instead of seeing a character appear, the customization options disappeared and the screen went completely black.

After a few moments, a room began to come into view, and I was suddenly filled with a sinking feeling that the random button didn't do what I thought it did.
