Jon held the stone and was about to say "I wish..." when there was a huge flash of light. Jon dropped the piece of paper in his hand and it fell under the bed.
Stunned for a second, when they could see again there was another Jon and Karyn identically dressed. The other Jon was holding a gameboy.
"We're here!" DTH-Jon said unclasping DTH-Karyn's hand.
"We haven't gone anywhere. We are still in your room." she told him.
"Yeah about five minutes ago. Who do you think these guys are?" he said pointing at the dumbfounded Jon and Karyn.
"So we've like just travelled in time, that's not hopping dimensions or whatever." Karyn told him somewhat disappointed.
"Just travelled in time? That's more than any other human has done, ever but there's much more to it than that, we're..."
Jon interrupted.
"Excuse me.."
"Hang on a minute bud." DTH-Jon told the other Jon.
"Jon, you are so rude." DTH-Karyn stated.
"What??"
"Well we've just appeared from nowhere and are carrying on a conversation. The least you could do is apologise"
DTH-Jon looked at the other Jon. Speaking quietly and softly he told the other Jon "I'm sorry."
"Okay, continue.." DTH-Karyn told him.
He turned to face DTH-Karyn in his loud, self-assured and knowledgable tone.
"Our actual being here is creating a parallel universe as we speak. Events are playing out differently here than they did in our timeline."
DTH-Karyn looked around the room.
"In that case I just have one thing to say."
"What's that?" asked DTH-Jon.
She turned to face the other Karyn.
"I just want to say to you, I just love that top you have on." DTH-Karyn told her
Smiling broadly Karyn said "Thank you. It's one of my favourites."
"I bet you put it on to look nice and Jon hasn't even noticed. I bet he's more interested in magic stones and crazy devices."
"Yeah, ah well you know what he's like."
"I sure do."
She turned to face DTH-Jon.
"You finished?" he asked somewhat put out.
"Yeah it's nice to catch up but I'd much rather go somewhere more interesting."
DTH-Jon tapped some buttons on the DTH.
"Ok interesting. Let's have a look at some of the branches from here. Ok let's try this one. Ready?"
He extended his hand to DTH-Karyn who quickly grabbed it. He turned to face the other Jon and Karyn.
DTH-Jon gave them some parting words.
"Well it was real nice but I doubt we'll meet again, who knows? bye"
There was another flash of light and DTH Jon and Karyn shot off to
"What was that all about?" Jon asked
Karyn shrugged her shoulders.
