Jon was feeling terrible labor pains. She could feel the baby coming, in fact--she guessed that she had immediately been getting the more intense pains she'd have right before the birth. No hours and hours of labor here...

Jon quickly removed her shoes, pushing them against the curb to make them come off without bending over her pregnant belly to get at them, and awkwardly unzipped her pants. "Sarah, have some pity! Help me!" she yelled.

"Fine," said Sarah. "I wish Jon was at the hospital giving birth" and, looking at the discarded pants and shoes, added "and that she has her stuff with him."

Jon disappeared. She was lying down on a hospital bed, her lower half hidden by a cover, but the doctor was working below. Looking around, she could see Karyn on the other side of the room, in a similar situation. She could feel some pain, but not much--she must have been given some sort of anesthetic. And she could feel something massive being pushed with each contraction.

Jon's pants also disappeared, and reappeared beside Jon in the hospital.

Jon's shoes disappeared, reappearing there too.

And Jon's stone disappeared, since it was after all his property. Sarah, realizing what had happened, yelled "No!!" when she felt it vanish from her hand.

Jon, through the anesthetic, and the pain and confusion, could vaguely tell when her contractions died down, as her own baby came out. After cutting the cord and doing who knows what else, the doctor brought the baby up. "Congratulations, you have a new daughter."

It was about time for the afterbirth... but Jon suddenly felt herself transform. Her belly was big. Even more so than before. Six months pregnant with triplets, she thought.

But she realized something else: no anesthetic, and no pain. And she was sitting down, not lying down as she had been a second ago. The doctor was holding the same baby in exactly the same position, but the baby was older, starting to develop hair, and said "Your daughter Jessie is fine. The checkup didn't find anything wrong. And your triplets are going to be fine too." Jon figured it out: it wasn't possible to have a newborn daughter and be six months pregnant. So once she gave birth the daughter got old enough that it was possible; she guessed she was around a year old, maybe more.

Jon also realized she was holding the stone. She knew she'd need to make a wish as soon as she could get where nobody could hear her; having four children would be awkward, and besides, she didn't want to change to a man the next morning while six months pregnant. And she needed to handle Sarah.

Meanwhile, Sarah was driving to the hospital. Jon had to be there, with the stone. How could she have been so stupid as to let him get it that way?
