We descended the platform and made it down to the base level. It was time to go to the mission control and the viewing theatre. We were not officers of the coalition. As I was the one that was stripped of my position, it was reserved for the leader of Cold Clan in the interim. That was just because he was the head of my territory. We never got to the point where we needed to choose another head of security. The Cold Clan leader was now with the leader of Sonic Clan. I should have tried to get back in as the Treasurer of the coalition. I sucked my teeth. Truthfully, I put a whole lot of money into this project. I was the one that paid for this hangar for example. We could see the massive mecha. It had already been activated. I had seen that personally. "Alright everyone. It is time for them to make their first steps to the launch pad." the leader of the coalition said to us. Then she turned to their personal monitor and said "You are now cleared for take off." The mecha's leg began to move. It then took a step. We were all watching their huge screen with rapt attention. This was the first event of its kind.
They arrived at the mouth of the big tunnel. It then began to move and walk down the guided path to the center of the complex one leg right after the other. That path led to a large opening with a button that could be controlled manually from their XX-frame itself. There was also a much smaller version in the command center. That could do it remotely. When it got to the launch pad, they stepped on and grabbed onto metal hooks in the wall. It was part of the launching apparatus. Once the rocket pack extended the wings to its full length, all of us would wait for the huge rocket ignition and lift off. Once a height of 20 feet had been achieved, the hooks in the wall would launch them straight up the 300 feet wall at a very terrifying speed. This was to prevent collision with the wall. It also helped them achieve an altitude most conducive for flying. Now that they had latched onto the hooks, the leader of Sonic Clan gave them a countdown. As she counted, the wings extended, and we saw their mecha's feet begin to glow red and white hot from their flames. It lifted and met their 20 foot threshold.
It then shot up into the air. "We have liftoff!" the coalition leader yelled out loud. Everyone in the hangar complex began cheering wildly. We had a clear radio connection to them from an underground mission control tower off to the right of the command center and viewing theatre. We had them do a large lap around the town and then straight up into outer space. It took them 10 minutes to travel through the vacuum of space before they cut the power off to their rockets. It looked like they were ready for the next step. Everyone around me were really excited. We could hear when the leader got on the intercom with them. "Alright. It is time to send the stellar coordinates and create the warp bridge." There was a minute of silence before the whole XX-frame began to glow with bright, vibrant teal light. "Ready to create warp bridge." 05-010 announced. "Proceed." was what the Sonic Clan leader responded with. The XX-frame clasped its hands together and then spread them apart. A big teal burst of energy appeared between its fingers. As it's arms stretched widest, a 1000 foot portal appeared.
