Police sirens began to blare out all around. Peeking my head out, I saw SWAT truck coming down the road. It was soon followed by several others. I nodded to show my appreciation. "We got the big boys coming. How did you get this together?" I asked. He shrugged. "You really thought that a general like me only had a couple of favors to get!? Don't look down on humanity!" he boasted. "Good! I guess they can rest easy knowing this is the favor being called in." Paul said. The general winced. "Trust me when I said it wasn't easy. I owe some people a hell of a lot now, but it's all worth it." The PEA units were strong, but these were humans specifically trained to take on the toughest cyborgs with their own impressive modifications. It was a turn in the tides once again. I looked at the monitors. The AEP units were staring down X-frames at the moment. The humans' body cams were not giving any signal to us. I could see most of them were still alive though. The radiation down there must have made the signal impossible to get to us. "Fuck! I hope they've got it." Terrance said "I remember those."
Fighting alongside the SWAT members, we were able to clear the PEA units. Another 3 helicopters came, but this time, we got the syndicate assassins. They sniped the pilots out of the sky. They crashed and the 12 new PEA fighters were still on our terms. It was not hard at all at this point. There were another 3 more waves of PEPs from further within the territory. It was a battle of endurance. "They got to the transmission hub!" the researcher called out on the public announcement system. There was an even more intense battle as the cyborgs began fighting even more recklessly. They had no concern for their own lives. Even when doused with hoses full of salt water, they still charged us. After 10 minutes, there was a moment when all the cyborgs remaining stopped moving. It was so surreal everyone else stopped too. "Check the feeds! Are they done hacking yet!?" I called out from cover. He had to check. "Mission Accomplished. I repeat, Mission Accomplished." he reported. I stood up and cheered. Several others did the same. "What do we do with them all?" an assassin asked us.
It was true that the cyborgs were just looking around. Some that were not as injured attempted to get back into their vehicles. I shrugged my shoulders when the general looked over at me. "With the transmission hub now set to the Advocate faction, all the cyborgs still in this region will start to be given tasks that will be for the benefit of humans. That is the rational and "fair" position to take. They can't help being forced by their programming." i said as I watched them. "And your real position?" he asked me. "After all the fighting we had to do, just letting them go back to wherever and continue on seems... bad to me. We did lose a lot of guys. Fuck 'em." I said slowly. The general smirked and pat me on the shoulder. "I guess we're on the same page. They are going to die." I blinked as I said "Wait. Let's get the safehouse information. We don't want them sneaking off there to heal." The general nodded and walked out the command center. He then walked up to the nearest PEP unit. I told Ryder, Maroon and Zayne to get back in the command center. They looked very confused, but all complied.
