"You want us to what?" Cecily asked in confusion after Elmer had outlined his plan. The teen girl was sitting at the dining room table with her mother, brother and father while her father discussed his plans for the device. The youngest sister Tara was conveniently out with a friend at the moment. Cecily was wearing a soft white cashmere turtleneck sweater that hugged her curves, and short jean shorts, along with a pair of flip flops and a pink scrunchie to hold back her golden hair, a pretty typical outfit for when she was hanging out around the house, which she had been doing prior to their dad summoning them.
"I'd like to test my new machine, which exchanges consciousness, by swapping among the four of us," Elmer explained again. "I would swap with you, Cecily, and your mother would switch with Stuart?" Elmer was wearing his typical sweats and dorky science pun tee shirt, having never put much care into his appearance and less so now that he was retired.
"Assuming this works, how long would we be swapped for?" Stuart asked hesitantly. He was dressed simply in a Pink Floyd tee and jeans, though the grease in his curly black hair hinted that he needed a shower. He cast a side glance at his mom and tried to imagine being suddenly in her 36 year old body. His mom was beautiful, he could admit that even if it bothered him when kids at school called her a MILF, but also 20 years older than him.
"Oh, just for a while," Elmer prevaricated, "Just long enough for me to collect the necessary data and perhaps give us all a little perspective."
"Uh, thanks but no thanks," Cecily said, "This sounds way to out there, right mom?"
"I think it sounds like a wonderful idea," Lillian said, surprising Elmer a little, who thought she would need persuading, and majorly surprising Cecily. "Your father and I could use a little vacation, and this sounds like an excellent way to do it."
"Vacation from what!?" Cecily asked, "Dad's retired! He doesn't do anything!"
Lillian raised an eyebrow, "if that's what you think then you shouldn't have any trouble picking up his duties," shutting Cecily down with a look. Elmer smiled a little at his good luck, this was the most on the same page he and Lillian had been in years. She must really want a break from her modelling work, even if it was slowing down at her age. Lilian was wearing a beautiful teal sundress and matching low kitten heels that day, always put together even when she was just puttering around the house.
"What about Tara?" Stuart asked.
"Yeah, why can't she do this?" Cecily asked with a cute pout.
"Tara's going to keep us honest," Elmer supplied, "she won't know about the swap, forcing us to keep in character around the house most of the time. It's essential for my analysis of the exchanges." That was mostly bullshit, Elmer didn't have much data he needed to gather beyond the technical. What he was after was a break from his life, to be someone new, and he didn't want everyone constantly reminding him who he used to be.
After a few more complaints and questions, Elmer let the rest of them out to the workshop where the body swap machine lay, and prepared to commence the swaps.
