Groans seemed to be taken as insubordination and disrespect. When she was third in line from the door, a couple of nobles tried to skip. "We have to go now! Her huge ass is going to totally block the door!" one of them said in a nervous tone. "Yeah. No one wants to be downwind of a smelly horse!" the other said more boldly. Now there were 5 people ahead of her. "C'mon! Prissy fucking nobles!" she snapped. Her tail lashed behind her. A boy got hit in the face and cried out in pain. Alice turned her head over her shoulder and apologized. "Sorry. My tail... has a mind of its own sometimes. I'll make it up to you later." she said. He groaned and just nodded. The noble that had insulted her turned fully to look at her and said "So that was you, then. Know your damn place beast and apologize!" He looked furious. His companion just looked at me in horror and said "She's super big. Let's just go!" The braver noble smirked and said "In the line of battle we'll have lots of opponents that are bigger or stronger than a human is. That does not mean that we can just back down when our honor is questioned."
Now Alice was getting pissed off. Both of them were clearly looking down on her. It was just that the meeker boy was too weak to say anything directly to her face. If he had to take on Alice in a 1 on 1 scenario, he would piss himself in fear. The asshole was a different story. Alice could respect him in that he had the strength of conviction to say what he truly felt. She crossed her arms. "If you guys have such a damn problem with me, you could have just waited until it was done." she said testily. The angry noble's eyes widened and asked "Are you talking back to me, centaur!?" "Yeah, you dumbass! I'm talking to you. Just go and get your schedule so the rest of us can get it and move on." she said. "Do you know who I am!?" he demanded. "I don't know and I do not care. Just move." Alice said. The enraged noble drew his sword. "Arthur! It really isn't worth it!" the other noble said as he grabbed his companion's sword arm. Arthur tried to get his arm free. "Get off me Darell! I need to put her in her place." he snapped. Darell just grimaced and said "No! I will not let you get in trouble on the first day!"
Darell continued to hold on to his friend until the woman at the counter said "Next up! We don't have all day." Arthur gave up with a sigh. "Fine!" he conceded as he went slack in the dominant arm. Darell looked at him. "You're not going to just attack us right after I let you go, right Arthur!?" he probed with a pleased smile. "Of course not. It goes without saying that I'm not going to strike my own cousin in anger." he said. That seemed enough for Darell and he let his agitated cousin go. Arthur took another deep breath and sheathed his blade. "I'll deal with you later beast. Let's go Darell." Arthur said before giving a final huff. Darell looked thankful that the two of them would not be dragged into a big, drag down fight with Alice. She was the only one besides them at the front of the line. It meant that Alice had to follow them. When they were done, they left the counter without even looking at her. Alice did not care that much. If something happened between them, she could defend herself if she needed to. To do that, she needed her nice schedule. The woman gave her one. It was tailored for 4 legs.
