John was getting bashful, so Erin decided to help the reclamation of her self-esteem along some rather than get John's face any redder. She turned to Lisa and Lauren.

"So...how about you? Do you think I'm attractive?" she asked after a few minutes of idle chat.

They froze, looked at each other with raised brows, and then looked at John, in close enough unison it was as if they were on the same mental wavelength.

He was midway through taking a drink of his martini when he noticed their eyes, watching him expectantly. He shot them his most disarming expression, and said "Go on," in a bemused manner.

Erin was puzzled by this at first, then realized the situation--in a lot of guys that could spark jealousy. John, however, was leaning back lighting a cigarette, unperturbed.

The two girls returned their eyes to her, and for the first time Erin noticed the slightly hungry element in their gazes. Lisa spoke up first: "Erin, babe, to be honest I've had a HUGE crush on you for a long time now--"

Lauren finished the thought. "I'd only seen pictures and heard her talk about you, but so have I...damn, kid, you've really got it going on."

Erin was flattered, but something in their voices..."Oh my God--"

"Gods, plural; there's quite a few of them," John muttered while Erin continued.

"--are you hitting on me?!" Erin queried, shocked--but not necessarily in a bad way.

John laughed. "Yes and no--they ARE hitting on you, but they're completely monogamous, so don't take it as some kind of proposition." He directed his attention to the naga/human couple, saying "Come on, knock it off now, you two, don't upset her."
