Noah, Maroon and Cinnabar had already budgeted their ice cream purchases. They let the ladies choose first. Danielle said "I love coming here! The strawberry is really good. They even have fruit bits in it." She got a big triple cone of that flavor. That was $5.25 right there. Noah was ready for this. He had saved all his money for the week for this reason. He smiled as he got a double scoop of strawberry cheesecake in a cup. That was $4. Both of their orders came to $9.25. Maroon looked at his date for the afternoon and smiled. Jane looked at him questioningly. "You want a double scoop of the peach flavor?" he asked Jane. She looked at him in total surprise. Jane was taken aback. "How did you know I liked that flavor!?" she demanded. He said "Lucky guess." It was not a lucky guess. It was rare, but when Jane wanted a small snack in class, she would always bring peach flavored candy or pastries. He ordered a vanilla scoop for himself. It was time for Cinnabar to order. He just smiled real wide and told Mary to choose what she had wanted. She took three scoops of strawberry cheesecake.
It was in a cone. That meant it was the most expensive thing that could be ordered. A whopping price of $6.75. Both Noah and Maroon looked at him like he was crazy. It was just simple math. They knew that Cinnabar had been spending most of his weekly allowance. Mary had said that she wanted to try this flavor when they asked the group out earlier that morning. He ordered a triple scoop of banana split. It was also in a nice cone. That cone brought the price up to $13.50. Cinnabar took out the $20 dollar bill and gave it to the woman at the counter. "You can keep the change." Noah and Maroon shared a look. Neither of them knew where he had gotten all the money from. Cinnabar, on the other hand, did not care about it at all. He had took it from someone using his powers. Jessica and Greta went up to the counter and ordered what they wanted. Jessica got a double scoop of the chocolate ice cream in a cup. Greta got a triple scoop of rainbow sherbet in a cone. It took a while for the attendant to get their orders ready. Once they did, the group sat down at a pair of large back to back booths.
Eating ice cream and talking to the girls was not had for the boys. It did not seem like Noah and Danielle had much in common. What they did share was a strong hatred for those who would blindly get on social media and do the latest fad "challenge". Most were self destructive. Others were downright illegal. Maroon and Jane got along on the fact that she also took self defense training. Whereas the boys still faithfully went to karate practice on the weekends, Jane was involved in judo. "I'm really just a beginner." she said. All three boys came to look at her highly for that fact. Mary happened to point out that she liked action movies. The boys loved action movies. "The new Hex Vixen movies is coming out soon!" she said, turning to Greta. She gave a Mary a strained look. "Didn't one just come out? We all saw it when it came out." she asked. "Yeah! That was Hex Vixen 4: Remember the Blammo Boys. Now we are at 5. It's totally new!" she said excitedly. "I remember 3: Only Time to Party. That was our favorite." Mary turned to him and said "Wow. That one was good. For me, 4 was best."
