Due to the fact that we had taken on Pierce Clan, the era of war had started. The Researcher faction did not have the plurality of the hubs we only had four of them. That was nowhere near nine. Even saying that now, the brand new Pierce Clan would need some time to become fully operational. If worse came to worse, we could form a confederacy later. Right now, the option of a coalition was on the table. The natural distribution of the transmission hubs put Conquerors in the lead. Our Researchers and the Advocates had three hubs each. The other seven were for Conquerors. In theory, they only would have to take two transmission hubs from the other factions to move over to the next stage. Instead, we took one from them. They no longer had the majority of the hubs. It was still a plurality though. I did not want the Conquerors to win. Humanity would be the losers if that happened. I said "If we are going to be in a coalition, let's do it with the Advocates." Paul looked at me and said "They have less hubs than the Conquerors do." I said "They have so much tech and cash, they can't lose."

With the tech that and money for weapons and advanced systems that we had given them, it was impossible to lose. The only clans that would have a shot at it were just the Void Clan and their vassal Volition Clan. That was only because we were also funding them. If they fought, it would be a massive war of attrition that would blow their cover to the continent. Neither side would want that to happen. Advocates would not want the public support of their faction to go down. Conquerors did not want all of the government goons buzzing around them like flies. However, the opposite was not the case. Heat, Electric and Sonic clans would be able to take other Conqueror transmission hubs that were not under human scrutiny or Void Clan control. They would be able to do it with ease. I knew that things would be much easier for us if all of the Conquerors faction clans were knocked down a peg here. I actually had a plan to help the Advocates out. First, I had to get on the phone with the government agents that Sky and Stretch had gotten off of our backs. I still had all of their contact information.

I called Terrance because he seemed to be the one that was going to be the easiest to get along with. He was not very happy to take my call. I was happy to know that he knew my number. Although that was also dangerous for me. "What do you want, Brianne?" he asked. "I want to know the progress on the new investigations? Getting the Toxic and Water clans gone from those transmission hubs is something we all want to see." I replied. There was a sigh. "It's only been like, a few weeks? We told you that Beau was not going to drop it. He and his friends are still there trying to trip your clans up. Nancy, Marion and I switched to Toxic Clan. The rest decided to go for the silly Water Clan." I rolled my eyes. "I see. How can we aid you guys in your operation for Toxic Clan. I bet we can help you more than the others because of our unique relationship." I told him. There was a pause on the other end of the line. Terrance asked "What are you trying to say?" "We want those guys dead and gone. But we know better than to step on toes. Even more than to get into a war in the street." I said.

He sighed. "True. We definitely would have to step in if there was a gang war spilling out on the streets. Especially if that gang war is between cyborgs." I nodded. It was all good on my side of the phone call. "What do we have to do to help out your investigation into that bank?" Terrance paused for a bit before running down what a police investigation was like. The investigation process begins when law enforcement is notified that an offense likely occurred. Either the victim or a witness might report the incident, triggering officers to investigate the matter to determine if a crime has been committed and who committed it. We blew the whistle in this case. The crime here obviously being that a subversive group of terrorists working for alien invaders ran a headquarters in the bank. An investigation must still be conducted to collect evidence for the case. During investigations, law enforcement will look for evidence to support the claim a crime has been committed and identify suspects. Investigators are trained to make observations, looking for any weapons, bloodstains, and footprints.
