To play volleyball, there could be four or six players on each team. 03 looked at me and smiled. "How do you want to do this? I don't care if you want to scurry away after four of you lose, but I am warning you now." he trailed off suddenly. I turned to him and saw he was glaring at me. I had not seen so much malice directed towards me since we first met. It was a bit jarring. "... If you step foot on the court with me, friendship doesn't matter here. We are fighting to the death." he finished. I was pretty taken aback. "Geez 03. I keep telling you about that toxic mindset of yours." I said after a very nervous chuckle escaped my mouth. "It's not a bad thing if he's actually right." 01 teased from the sideline. He was already sitting down to watch us play. "When you say it like that, I can't back down from a challenge like that. I am going to win to keep my guys alive." I said more confidently. 03 was clearly frustrated. That was not my problem though. I picked myself, Ollie, Trent and Jimmy for this game. Akira, Natsumi and Henry all were going to sit by and cheer us on. I thought this was fine for the moment.
Once we got on the court, 03 sighed loudly. It was time for them to play the game. Jeff was on the court too. They were joined by a male and female PEA unit. When the match started, they began soft. Because they were trying to feel us out, they were not using their organs or their full strength. That was all on them. We got the first few points quickly. The game continued. Normally, volleyball went along until there was a single winner. That went with the first team to score 25 points by a two-point margin awarded the set. Matches are best-of-five sets and the fifth set, if necessary, is usually played to 15 points. Hopefully we could go and win this sooner than this. We were all doing our best from the beginning. The first set went to us. That was when they upped the ante. The second set went to them narrowly. All of Volition Clan then began cheering and hyping them up. I rolled my eyes. It was time to go harder on them. I was the only one that could do this. For the third set, I made sure to run circles around the court and spiking the balls as hard as I could. No one could stop me there except 03.
During the third set, we were taking on the most of the action. If it was a contest of endurance, I would always lose to him. But in sprints and raw power, I dominated him every single time. We got the edge on the third set and it gave us the win. There was silence on the Volition Clan side of the stands. Akira, Natsumi and Henry were all cheering at the top of their lungs. I walked off the court and said "I guess we won this first contest. We beat you fair and square. Ollie, Trent and Jimmy. Go pick out the member that you want to fuck. I think it's time for the next competition." The leader was furious and shot up from his seat. "What are you doing!? You let these fools come in here and get a win over us! What are the others going to say!? What about Void Clan when this gets out!?" 03 looked devastated. He looked from us to the cheering humans in the stands. "... I will not fail you anymore." was all 03 said. That did not seem so good to me. The next competition was powerlifting. 03, 05, 06, Akira, Natsumi and I all were to lift as much weight as we could. The one that did would win for the team.
