After listening to my tale, Karyn smiled. "We shouldn't wish changes on people. But getting something should be safe."
"Just be sure what you want." I smiled and took out the stone. "I wish we each had a root beer slurpee."
Two slurpees appeared on the table beside us. Karyn took a sip from one; then smiled. "Good thought. But let's try something a little more valuable."
I let her take the stone. "Your turn."
She walked over to a large closet and removed a few hangars of clothes. Then she stepped back. "I wish that closet were full of money."
There was a tremendous jingling sound; then a loud crash as twenty tons of pennies fell through the floor.
Karyn turned around with a sheepish look on her face. "Oops." She handed the stone back. "I think you'd better fix this."
I stared at the mound of pennies rising up from the under floor crawlspace for a moment.
