Anna and Anna sat around the closed improvement store, trying to figure out what to do. There was no one around luckily, but there isolation wasn't making things any better. Every time one of them would get up to speak to another, the other did the same and they were both freaked out by it. They'd usually stop because they figured, logically the other had thought of that same thing anyway. One Anne laid around a tire for a while, when a small figure walked over. It was a young girl, no older than 7 or 8.
"Oh no, that's not good. Get back from me, you don't know what I can do!"
Her warnings went on deaf ears. The girl walked closer, her eyes already dazed. She chanted in her young voice "M-must be Annie. Must wear pigtails. I. Want to be, Annie!"
The two older Anna's looked at each other gasping. "No, nonono! You don't think what I think-"
"OF COURSE I DO! I'm you, I think exactly like you! Annie is what we were called when, well one of us was a kid remember? And we even had pigtails!"
"Does that mean that kids younger than us are going to want to become whoever we were as a kid?
"Well apparently. I suppose it doesn't allow them to age up or anything, so they'd become the next best thing- our younger self."
They both stopped for a minute, than other said what they were both thinking.
"Wait, does that mean that anyone older than us would want to become me- in the 'future'?"
They both looked at each other dead silent.
