Anna(s) ran to an escalator and quickly went to the lower floor. The crowd would make it downstairs quicker through the stairs of course, but this would buy them all of 30 seconds to try to sort matters.
"Why the hell did you kiss me! I don't get why the hell anyone would be obsessed with being me!" Anna declared.
"Kiss you, but- you kissed ME! I'm the original one, remember!" The opposite Anna yelled.
"No! How else would I remember that last week I bought a-" "Cardigan sweater at JC Pennies on sale for 4.99$" Anna interrupted Anna. They paused.
"S-stole from mothers wallet at age 5!"
"W-we, no I secretly thought Harrison Blunth was cute in the 7th grade."
"Was about to consider suicide before the crowd of people bumrushed me."
They both covered their mouths, silent at the implications.
One Anna leaned her head back against the elevator wall. "Damn it! So neither of us remembers which is the original."
"I guess not, since we remember everything the same. Why would we even have wanted to be us- me, if we were just going to regret it immediately anyway?" The other asked.
"I don't know, obviously their blind obsession sort of hides that part, you know? They see me running and terrified for my life and not wanting any clones of me, but don't figure that once they actually remember and think as me, they won't want it anymore either, right? It's a pretty dumb fate to throw yourself into. Like picking up a genie and just wishing that it'll screw over your other wishes twice as hard."
The two sighed. They'd reached the bottom. Expecting a crowd of people outside, they stood ready and prepared for the worst.
