Ms. Carrigan downed another bottle of wine, sighing in her cleaned kitchen as her 16 old son got off the bus. He attempted to slip by her, she wasn't having any of that.
"Why did I get another call from your teachers today Mark?"
"They're just giving me a hard time, stop pushing me so hard!" He retorted.
"I'm sitting right over here, don't use that tone of voice with me!"
"Ugh, you're so uptight. For someone who drinks as much as you I wish you'd lighten up!"
The mother got up and slammed her glass down. "Yeah, well wait until you're an adult. You're so irresponsible, someday you'll see why woman like me need to drink!"
Lights flashed in and the reality blurred once more.
