She continued her story.
"During one of their bizarre rallies I'd managed to sneak away. They sent a search party of my former friends after me, but I'd snuck into the woods. There I found some weird portal, and inside it these old retro dressed ladies were hiding. Their faces weren't human however! They looked more like...socks? Hose? Fabric? Well it's hard to say, but they were faceless! Completely unhuman. They tried to grab and do something to me but I sabotaged some machine they had which apparently delayed their plan. Over the next 3 days I spent hiding and running in and out, trying to stay protected while doing guerrilla warfare. Interestingly enough this was one of the "Games" we played before the strange takeover anyway, so while I sucked at it than I had to get really good really fast at it. I found out they were some kind of monsters, or beings from another dimension. They were planning to convert all the kids into 'cooks' of sorts, since their kind cannot feed normally and they need humans to be the live-ovens for them. It's kind of a twisted Hansel and Gretel situation when you think about it."
Carol burped briefly. "Excuse me."
"Anyway, after the 3 days I wanted to expose them but they'd already cut all communication from the outside world. Even with all I'd discovered and done, they'd still managed to catch and surround me. That was it, I wouldn't been done for than and there and made into, whatever freakish thing they would've made me. Luckily before they could seal the deal, seal team six- that is to say, highly trained Agent operatives burst in. On Helicopters no less! They used these specials guns and wore cool suits and broke down all the doors. Within hours they'd captured not only the creatures responsible but mind wiped all the kids too. The camp staff was put back, everything was back in order within a single day. It was incredible, unlike anything you've ever seen. I rejoined some of my friends, who I'd see much later on anyway."
"Uh huh. So, why is that?" John asked.
"Because, they'd asked me to join the Agency too. Must've been impressed with all my work during my time there. That's not to say I wouldn't have joined even if that wasn't the case. After I was recruited, I learned the truth about that camp..."
