Cassie sat on her bed working on her latest school work. She was having trouble with her newest Calculus problems when she heard her mother calling. Not wanting to be interrupting, she slammed the door and ignored her. Her mother called repeatedly, before finally breaking in anyway and arriving at her bed.
"I called you times! Dinner is ready, cannot you just come when you're called upon!" Her mother demanded to know.
"I've got homework, can you just buzz off already! Please, I'm not even hungry."
"Look all I know is that you've got to eat. If you don't come down I'm not saving anything."
Cassie scowled. "Yeah, okay do that. That's typical of you anyway, putting me in these binds. Atleast if I were you I wouldn't force these kind of choices, I mean really. That's not totally cassie at all." She covered her mouth.
In the blink of an eye her mother had morphed somewhat, regressing several years and dying her hair shades of blond and black. She'd gained slight freckles and a headahe. "You're right sorry for putting you on the spot. I'll leave your dinner warming up on the stove, trust me!"
"You will?"
"Totally Cassie!"
Cassie swore under her breath and broke her pencil. She had to be more careful with this gift!
