"Rain" ran out through the back courtyard, boots clacking on concrete and than soft grass. She backed up against a fence, out of options and out of breath. Her options were limiting quickly, she could release hold of her "Shining" and go back to her other body but she might expose herself that way. Not to mention she wanted to find out all she could, the longer she was another body the more information she could theoretically find out by it's very nature. However if she got hurt like this, would it transfer to the host? Would they still be interrogated after? Her kindred nature put her own lofty goals at odds.
"Nowhere to go!" Zach yelled, inching in closer and closer.
Rain wondered, she was already in one body wasn't she? And this Rain was identical to her original, which possessed the power that put her into it. So wouldn't it be possible to perform the Shining a second time? Triangle-Posing her fingers, she tried again at her pursuer. There was silence, and a scoff. Zach tackled her and pinned her to the ground. "Trying to shapeshift again are you? Guess it didn't work."
The girl bit her lip. If her ability didn't work on him it would either be because A) Possessed clone-bodies don't exhibit the ability, or B) He was another contestant with a power like her, and had his own Shielding that she remembered. She reasoned this and stood put, waiting to see what he'd do.
"Well, what now cowboy? You've got me in your ropes, are you going to make me squeal or not?"
Zach grinned. He didn't know if that was an emotional response but didn't care. Poking her in the eye slightly and pulling at her hair, she gave a squeaky yelp. Anger, it filled her as she tried to pull her off defenselessly. She managed to push him slightly but he kneeled one leg on her chest.
"Jerk."
He saw his hand's blue aura, and knew that was enough. Poking her hand into her head however was met with silence. She waited, afraid of what he'd do. He poked her forehead again, expressing clear frustration for her to witness. She smiled. Neither of their abilities worked on each other than. Other than his physical dominance, they were at a stalemate right now.
"Good game. Cya!" Rain whispered a hushed pejorative and swooshed out. All that was left a moment later was the same kid in the gray sweatshirt and jeans that had 'shapeshifted' into her earlier, much to his confusion.
Rain opened her eyes and woke up in her own body once more, right at the moment when she'd left it.
"Sssh! We need to hide." Rain grabbed Leon's hands and snuck into the bathroom, giddy to replay and watch events from her own perspective this time around.
