With the sudden disappearance of the mysterious lady, Katie shrugged and prepared to go home.
Gathering her belongings and hurrying towards the bus, she was confronted by Loyd and Tod, two other less-than-popular kids whose sole solace was teasing her mercilessly. They snickered and made their usual comments, arriving on the shuttle, throughout the trip and even before their exit. Despite having grown ample patience their comments weighed heavily on her. She pretended to strangle them, not noticing the faint sparks emitting from her hands as she swiped and they departed.
"Oh, I'll show them what it feels like...someday." Katie said with a sigh laced with desire.
