Slightly nearby, a rugged man with a shaggy beard, leather jacket and ripped muscles with scattered tattoos hid behind a corner. He'd witnessed the previous horrific transformations that'd claimed the lives of several people from a far, and now he noticed he wasn't the only one. A few people had caught wind and were fleeing off. It wasn't that hard to witness a whole family being transformed into near clones of each other, but stopping to ask questions or put a stop to it, much more so. That would change soon, the man thought to himself.
Taking out a pocket knife and slowly approaching the family of katies congratulating each other on their change, the man prepared to swipe at the invading horde in their brief distraction.
"Quite a shiny toy you got there." A sweet high-pitched voice rang out behind him. Before he could even react pastel pink nails gripped over his wrist. "But I bet mine are shinier."
He would not be prepared enough.
