When consciousness seemed to resume again, Rain was back in her own body. She saw herself, and another her being grabbed by Leon.
"R-Rain? Did it work? Come on, say something." Leon asked in his usual gruff voice.
The other her, turning around to face him stated in a familiar tone "April showers bring May flowers." The two nuzzled and Rain felt something eerily similar about all this. She remembered the brief words that were supposed to be said about now. Banking off her memory and letting it all play out, she simply restated "But May's Gloom brings teary rain in June."
The other her, looking identical to her in every way, matched eyes and brisk hands once more. It was like re-watching a scene only from an entirely different angle. Once the Rain-clone had chuckled, she checked out her body and strode off, until she disappeared behind a corner.
Rain, befuddled at the absurdity of the whole situation ran and followed after her. But when she turned around the corner, the new-her was gone and Hailey had returned in her place.
"Are you like stalking me? Don't ever come up to me again if you know what's good for you creeps." Hailey said and strut off. To test her abilities one more time, Rain ran up to Hailey and performed the same gesture and concentration, causing a repeated flash.
Sure enough, she was now seeing through the golden glow of Rain-Hailey's vision once more. She took out a stick of gum, kissed it leaving a pink lipstick stain and handed it to 'herself', than walked off a slight bit.
When the effect faded, she could now watch from her own perspective with delight as herself, cloned once more from Hailey handed her a stick of Gum with a waxy kiss. Once the cloned Rain finished walking off a few steps, the exact number of steps Rain remembered taking, she returned back to being fully Hailey right at the point Rain's experience as her had wore. The mystified goth tried to put into comprehension what she could do. Even if she understood it's power, taking the belief that such a thing could be possible in was a world of uncanny disbelief to her.
She'd remembered her time as the 'Other' that she'd tried to take control of, but even after it wore out she'd remembered the simultaneous process of witnessing her possessive self acting autonomously, even as herself.
Leon stood baffled as well, somewhat getting the impression there was a lot more to her schtick than merely body swapping or controlling other people for period of time, although simply speaking that was exactly what it was. It was just more, exceptional than either of them had imagined. The two walked back to the park bench and sat quietly. How could such a power get anyone to surrender themselves? What sort of implications existed for it, couldn't it easily be misused? Without a word or look of communication, Leon and Rain pondered these questions and figured the other was pondering the same. There'd be plenty of time to think about in the morning, Rain invited her vagabond companion home where they'd rest soundly for the night, and like a tune finishing it's last note they stode away hastily.
